1. Dress you hook with the tread starting at the eye and working back towards the bend of the hook. 2. Tie in the Bleached Coastal Deer hair. The tail of this fly should be about the same length as the hook shank. |

3. Tie in the Bleached Elk hair over top of the Coastal deer hair. | |||||||||||||

4. Dub your thread and dub the underbody, stopping about an eyes width from the hooks eye. | |||||||||||||

5. Separate the Coastal Deer Hair and the Bleached Elk Hair. Pull the Bleached elk hair over the back of the fly to create the shell back. Tie off the hair. | |||||||||||||

6. Trim off the extending Elk hair and tie down the butt ends. | |||||||||||||

7. Tie in the Black saddle hackle and make 2-3 wraps. Tie off the thread with a whip finnish. | |||||||||||||
